What a real tune-up includes
Door balance check and spring tension adjustment — the item that matters most, because an unbalanced door shortens opener life.
Tightening every bracket, hinge and track fastener. Years of vibration loosens all of them.
Lubricating hinges, rollers, springs and the opener rail with a garage-door-specific lubricant, not WD-40.
Testing both safety systems: the photo-eye reversal and the mechanical force reversal.

The two safety tests you should run yourself
Photo-eye test: start the door closing, then wave an object through the beam near the floor. It must reverse immediately.
